The Challenge:
The customer had a manual, time-consuming process of consolidating
customer exposures every month using the existing database. The data,
which was sent every month to the customer's corporate office, was stored
as part of this database. Every month, one file of all the customer exposures
was consolidated and submitted to the group's central office in the USA. The
entire process was not efficient and it was difficult to get intelligent reports
out of the database.
iGATE's Solution:
The iGATE Global team analyzed the system and proposed a data warehouse
solution, which could provide data for all the business portfolios and
automate the reporting system. Our team of experts proposed the creation
of individual data-marts. The data-marts simplified the process of data
extraction from the monthly platform extract files and helped generate
multiple reports in the format required by the customer. The analysis and
dimensional modeling of the data mart was conceived and designed by
iGATE Global's offshore team. The requirement gathering, designing and
construction process was completed in a record time of 45 days.

extracting reports. The centralized database provided direct on-line access
to timely, accurate and actionable information in a useful and navigable
format. This solution also ensured that the customer had a central database

most useful features of the systems was that it provided on-line analysis
including trend analysis, cross-platform benchmarking and drill-down
capability.
